FLARE is a group of rocketeers located in Las Cruces, New Mexico with a strong emphasis on introducing new flyers to the hobby and on education.We are a community of various professionals who pursue a shared interest: Fighting the tyranny of gravity.
We sometimes offer beginning rocketry and other workshops. Watch this site for upcoming launch events and workshops.

We launch on the first Saturday of every month at our Waterfalls launch site, starting at 8:00 AM.
SECOND ANNUAL HALLOWE’EN SPOOKTACULAR NIGHT LAUNCH NOVEMBER 7
Once again this year we’re going to have not just one but TWO launches on the first Saturday of November! In addition to our usual morning launch, we’ll also be setting the skies alight after dark!
- We’ll meet at our usual Waterfalls launch site at 5:30 PM. Sunset will be 5:13 PM, and astronautical twilight ends at 6:37. You’re welcome to begin flying as soon as we’re set up, but the real fun will start after dark.
- You are responsible for providing your own lights for your prep area.
- All rockets launching after dark need to be illuminated so they can be seen throughout all phases of flight. LEDs, glow sticks, luminous paint…. use your imagination!
- We aren’t putting stricter restrictions on motors than usual. But you probably don’t want to fly very high if you want to get your rocket back….
